Anthony Hamilton crying and praying after his win at MFC 38
The latest edition of the Maximum Fighting Championship proved to be an entertaining night full of upsets, new champions and shattered records.
Smealinho Rama, Canada’s No. 1-ranked heavyweight fighter, was defeated in the opening seconds of the second round after Anthony Hamilton delivered a knockout with a powerful head kick straight to the fight favourite’s temple.
During the first round, the fighters appeared to be neck-to-neck. But Hamilton saw an opportunity.
“He was dropping his hands and he was tired,” Hamilton said. “I figured I could throw a one-two and set up the kick.”
That’s exactly what he did. The kick sent Rama to the ground. Hamilton even managed to get one more punch in before the referee dived in. The knockout marked Rama’s first loss of the season.
